01Artistry
Observation in Expression.
When a chord is stricken and the soul begins to sing, we are able to recognize that there is something there, and if we're lucky — it'll be something worthwhile. How we bring that worthwhile discovery to life is the Art.
Artistry calls for a sense of calm honesty, an attentive eye for detail, and an openness to reflection. Through curiosity, experimentation, and the willingness to observe without judgment, we uncover the truths that shape us. When that expression happens involuntarily — know you're onto something. Listen to what moves us, remain open to what it reveals, and imagine the ways it can come true.
02Athleticism
The Power of Our Instrument.
Like an athlete, we approach the body's development with discipline, curiosity, and respect. Through purposeful training, thoughtful nutrition, restorative practices, and an understanding of our physical nature, we cultivate the conditions that allow our bodies to perform, recover, and thrive.
Athleticism requires us to listen as closely as we train, recognizing that our greatest capabilities emerge from pushing our limits and honoring our limitations. When we learn to work in partnership with our bodies, we expand our capacity to move through life with vitality, purpose, and freedom.
03Academics
The Study.
The human body is a living archive.
Gesture, rhythm, posture, and physicality reveal information about where we come from, how we live, and what we may be becoming. Through historical research, cultural study, scientific inquiry, and technique study, we seek to understand not only how bodies move, but the power of moving in certain ways.
Through interdisciplinary exploration, I invite you to look beyond what is immediately visible, question assumptions, and recognize the relationship between the individual body and the world that shapes it. Knowledge deepens our appreciation of movement, while movement offers new ways of understanding ourselves and one another.
04Actualization
The Art of Making It Happen.
There is a particular satisfaction in making something real. Actualization is the practice of turning vision into reality through craftsmanship, discipline, and deliberate action.
We believe that recognizing what ought to exist in the world is only the beginning. Bringing it to life requires more than inspiration. It takes grit, know-how, patience, and a willingness to roll up our sleeves and do the work. Every meaningful creation demands that we learn our craft, develop our skills, solve problems, and persist through the inevitable distance between what we imagine and what we can make real.

Patrick Opran grew up in New York City and has been dancing since age five. He trained at Broadway Dance Center and The Ailey School, where he met his mentor, Bev Brown, and began dancing professionally at 17 for TV, commercials, and live stage.
He has taught and choreographed at studios across the United States and in Europe, and dances for the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. He also holds a J.D. from Penn State Dickinson Law.
I teach dance as a craft and a conversation. Every class starts with the body, then builds toward choreography that asks for technique, musicality, and presence at the same time.
I care more about how each dancer moves than how closely they copy me. Beginners and trained dancers work side by side, and both are expected to grow.
The goal is progress you can feel: cleaner technique, stronger retention, and the confidence to bring yourself into the room.
New York trained. Boston based.
